At least four of the films Hitchcock directed are considered “Lost”, with no known copies remaining. It’s almost as if they disappeared into thin air… it’s like a mystery… might make a good movie…

Hitchcock was nominated for the Best Director Oscar five times, but never won. Billy Wilder beat him twice, with “The Lost Weekend” beating “Spellbound” in 1945, and “The Apartment” beating “Psycho” in 1960. “The Apartment” is about four business executives who ‘borrow’ an employee’s downtown apartment in order have affairs with their secretaries. It’s a living arrangement only slight weirder than that of Norman Bates and his mother.
