There is a little question about Paul Revere’s birthday. At the time he was born, the Boston Colony was still on the old Julian Calendar, but most of the rest of the world (at least the parts of the world on the Julian) had already switched to the Gregorian. Revere was born Dec 21, 1734 Julian, Jan 1 1735 Gregorian. Also, at the time he was born, most folks considered May 1 to be “New Year’s Day”. So even with the new calendar, he still wasn’t born on a holiday.
